The history of Spare Rib Express

Spare Rib Express began in the Galvanistraat in Amsterdam in 1992 with a delivery formula that stands for quality, excellence, speed and professionalism and therefore stands out from all other similar concepts.

The founders, both with a broad vision in the areas of marketing, logistics, product development, range and communication, developed the management in a number of years into an extremely successful franchise formula.

Spare Rib Express opened the first 2 test branches in Purmerend and Haarlem. They seemed as if they would be successful from the start.

After this, nothing could hold them back; rather, in the following 3 years 12 franchise branches were opened.

After reconsidering the future and the need for a more detailed structure of one thing and another, the franchise providers decided to take a break in 1998. The formula was closely scrutinized, new procedures and guidelines were developed and with the intention of being a good and reliable business in the future, they started again in 1999.

Meanwhile, an annual growth average of 3 to 5 branches was reached. The expansions went well for Spare Rib Express and they still saw plenty more business opportunities in the majority of the Netherlands.
